Where do we actually register our team?
Team registration and your official roster are handled on icpc.global, not on this website. Create your team there first, then come back here to pay the Chennai contest fee and submit proof of payment — see the Registration page for the full 3-step process.
What are the registration fees?
₹1,500 per team for the First Round Online Contest, and ₹4,500 per team for the onsite Chennai Regional Contest (only payable by teams that get selected onsite). Both are paid via bank transfer — details are on the Registration page.
Who can be on a team?
Exactly 3 student contestants plus 1 faculty coach, and all four must belong to the same institution. A contestant is eligible if they first began post-secondary studies in 2022 or later, or were born in 2003 or later, per the ICPC Global eligibility rules.
How are teams selected for the onsite round?
All Indian ICPC sites (Chennai, Kanpur, Mathura, Amritapuri) share one Preliminary Online Contest. Chennai then ranks only the teams that registered specifically for Chennai from that shared round, and invites the top-performing teams onsite — selection reflects overall performance and won't always match the raw preliminary rank order.
Can our team also register for another regional site?
Yes — a team may register for at most two Indian regional sites, but registration and the preliminary-round fee must be completed separately for each site, and it's recommended you keep the same team members across sites.
What programming languages can we use?
C, C++, Java, and Python are all allowed for the contest.
How long is the contest and how is it scored?
The onsite contest runs up to 5 hours with 8–12 algorithmic problems. Teams are ranked by number of problems solved, with total penalty time as the tiebreaker.
